Why More People Are Turning to Acupuncture for Modern Wellness

By Tara, Founder of OPNA Wellness

Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of patients find relief, balance, and renewed energy through acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. After graduating as Valedictorian of my class and spending more than ten years working in this field, one thing has become very clear to me: people are searching for natural ways to help their bodies heal and function at their best.

At OPNA Wellness in Newport Beach, my goal has always been simple. I want to help people feel better, move better, and live with more energy by supporting the body’s natural healing systems.

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a time-tested medical practice that has been used for thousands of years as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It involves placing very fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body that help regulate the nervous system, circulation, and energy pathways.

These points work like communication hubs in the body. When they are stimulated, they can help restore balance and encourage the body to heal itself more effectively.

Despite what many people think, acupuncture treatments are typically very relaxing. Most patients feel little to no discomfort and often leave their sessions feeling calmer, lighter, and more balanced.

Why People Come to OPNA Wellness

Patients come to our clinic for many different reasons. Some are dealing with chronic pain, while others are looking to improve their overall wellness.

Acupuncture is commonly used to help support:

• Stress and anxiety
• Muscle and joint pain
• Headaches and migraines
• Digestive issues
• Hormonal balance
• Sleep problems
• Skin health and anti-aging

Many patients are surprised by how interconnected the body is. When we improve circulation and regulate the nervous system, multiple symptoms often improve at the same time.

A Whole-Body Approach to Healing

One of the most powerful things about acupuncture is that it looks at the body as a complete system. Instead of simply treating symptoms, we focus on identifying the underlying imbalances that may be contributing to discomfort or illness.

At OPNA Wellness, treatments may include acupuncture along with other supportive therapies such as herbal medicine, cupping, microneedling, or red light therapy depending on the patient’s needs.

Every treatment plan is personalized because no two bodies are exactly the same.

The Long-Term Benefits

While many patients feel improvement after their first session, the real benefits of acupuncture often build over time. Regular treatments can help regulate the nervous system, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural resilience.

Patients frequently tell me they experience:

• More consistent energy
• Better sleep
• Reduced pain and inflammation
• Improved mental clarity
• Healthier skin and overall vitality

The goal is not just temporary relief. It’s helping your body function at a higher level so you can feel your best every day.

Experience Matters

With more than ten years of clinical experience and extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, I take pride in offering treatments that are both rooted in tradition and informed by modern wellness science.

Graduating as Valedictorian of my program was an important milestone for me, but the most rewarding part of my career has been seeing patients regain their health and confidence.

Helping people feel better is why I started OPNA Wellness, and it continues to inspire me every day.
